The house that burned on Doral Drive during the October 2000 fire has been replaced
with one which has a fire-resistant roof, protected eaves and fire resistant vegetation

But a nearby house still has a wood shake roof,
exposed eaves and fire prone trees close to the house

Blowing firebrands can easily
catch under old, curled wood
shakes. Replacing an old shake
roof like this one with a fire resistant
roof is the single, most important
thing you can do to protect your home.
